PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad Milestone

Over the years, PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) has achieved key milestones that reflect our continuous growth, innovation and commitment to delivering value to customers and the nation. From expanding our retail and mobility offerings to introducing new solutions that enhance convenience and accessibility, each milestone marks an important step in our journey of progress and transformation.

2025 

  • PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) and Blueshark Ecosystem Sdn. Bhd. (BESB) entered a strategic joint venture (JV) on 9 May 2025 to advance the distribution and adoption of electric two wheelers (2W-EV) and related energy solutions in Malaysia, further supporting the country’s low-carbon mobility agenda. 
  • Made history by delivering Malaysia’s first locally blended Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF), marking a significant step towards advancing cleaner energy solutions for the aviation sector. This achievement was further reinforced by PDB becoming the first in Malaysia to receive the ISCC CORSIA certification, a globally recognised standard for sustainability and carbon reduction in aviation fuels. These milestones underscore PDB’s commitment to innovation, environmental stewardship and alignment with global decarbonisation goals, positioning PDB as a trusted partner in shaping a more sustainable future for air travel. 
  • PDB supported the Government’s implementation of the BUDI95 programme by facilitating customer readiness and helping motorists adapt to the new targeted fuel subsidy requirements. Through coordinated communications, partnerships and on-ground engagement, PDB contributed to clearer public understanding and smoother customer transition. Working closely with relevant authorities, PDB aligned operational processes with policy direction to support a functional pump-to-app experience for users. 

2025 

  • Marked a significant milestone in October with the opening of two next-generation highway stations—PETRONAS R&R on MEX Highway and PETRONAS R&R Seri Kembangan. These projects exemplify PDB’s commitment to innovation, safety and customer experience, delivering modern facilities and optimised layouts that redefine convenience for travellers. Both stations feature premium amenities and advanced fuelling infrastructure, including lighted dispensers, spacious surau and upgraded restrooms, ensuring comfort and efficiency on the go. The achievement reflects agile project execution and operational excellence, cost optimisation and industry-leading compliance approvals. By combining innovative design with superior service standards, PDB continues to set the benchmark for highway mobility and enhance the travel experience for Malaysians. 
  • Expanded our retail offerings with the official launch of the f irst two franchise outlets—Steers and Debonairs Pizza—at PETRONAS Station Seksyen 9, Bangi. This milestone reflects PDB’s commitment to enhancing customer convenience and diversifying on-the-go dining options at our stations. By introducing internationally recognised quick-service brands within PDB’s network, this strengthens our position as a one-stop destination for fuel and lifestyle needs, delivering greater value and choice to motorists. This initiative underscores PDB’s strategy to innovate beyond traditional fuelling, creating holistic experiences that cater to evolving consumer expectations. 

2024 

  • Achieved its 15th win at the Putra Brand Awards in 2024, PETRONAS was honored in the Automotive – Fuel, Lubricants & Accessories category. This consistent recognition over the years underscores PETRONAS Dagangan's unwavering commitment to maintaining a trusted and valued brand in the industry. 
  • Inaugurated two standalone Kedai Mesra stores at MRANTI Technology Park and AmBank Tower. This milestone underscores our commitment to enhancing convenience and accessibility for our customers. The new stores offer a wide range of products and services, reflecting PDB's mission to deliver exceptional retail experiences. 
  • PETRONAS Dagangan and PLUS joined forces to develop Malaysia's first Hybrid Super Station on highways, promising enhanced travel experiences with innovative features. 
  • Launched a physical PETRONAS Shop at the PETRONAS Solaris station. This new retail outlet marks a significant milestone, providing customers with easy access to authentic PETRONAS merchandise and enhancing their overall experience. This initiative reflects PDB’s commitment to expanding its retail footprint and meeting customer needs more conveniently. 
  • ROVR debuted its expansion at Gamuda Cove, enhancing fuel accessibility in the neighborhood. Starting on weekends, ROVR offers on-site fuel delivery for residents and visitors. This initiative eliminates detours, addresses fuel concerns and provides a seamless refueling experience. 
  • Alongside Gentari Sdn Bhd, we partnered with Perodua Sales Sdn Bhd through two MoUs to enhance customer experiences. This collaboration introduces new integrated services, including Setel payments in the UFirst app, Mesra amenities, and service centers at select PETRONAS stations. 
  • Successfully expanded its Café Mesra network to 90 locations across Malaysia. This significant achievement underscores our commitment to enhancing customer experience by providing convenient and welcoming spaces for relaxation and refreshment. 

2023 

  • Secured the first offtake agreement with MAG as part of collaborative efforts to make the SAF production available in Malaysia at a commercial scale.
  • Integrated DuitNow into Setel, instantly connecting users with over 1 million merchants for seamless cashless payments nationwide.
  • Launched Setel Lite, the new, lighter way to pay for fuel.
  • Launched the new cardless Mesra Rewards loyalty programme.
  • Launched PETRONAS’ first palm biodiesel B100-fuelled road tanker in collaboration with the Ministry of Plantation and Commodities, Malaysian Palm Oil Board, Scania Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and Shaziman Transport Sdn. Bhd.

2022 

  • Signed sponsorship deal with the Badminton Association of Malaysia.
  • Collaborated with Malaysia Airlines Berhad to fly first passenger flight using SAF.
  • Launched Café Mesra, PDB’s new venture in the food and beverage (F&B) business. 
  • Celebrated PDB’s 40th anniversary. 
  • Launched PETRONAS Shop, a one-stop e-commerce platform available on the Setel app.
  • Entered into two tripartite Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) with Gentari Green Mobility Sdn. Bhd., EP Blueshark Sdn. Bhd., Blueshark Holding Limited and Handal Indah Sdn. Bhd. to roll out battery swap stations for electric two-wheelers and charging infrastructure for electric buses at PETRONAS stations.
  • Launched the first electric vehicle (EV) charging hub at PETRONAS Station Bandar Baru Ayer Hitam, the first-of-its-kind at a petrol station in Malaysia.

 2021

  • Collaborated with Malaysia Airlines Berhad to pioneer Malaysia’s maiden flight using sustainable aviation fuel (SAF).
  • Launched Segar@Mesra, in collaboration with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs (MDTCA) and the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Industries (MAFI).
  • Celebrated 40th Anniversary of PETRONAS first station at Taman Tun Dr. Ismail.
  • Incorporated Mesra Retail & Café Sdn. Bhd.
  • Converted all diesel at PETRONAS stations to Euro 5.
  • Entered into a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Mercedes-Benz Malaysia Sdn. Bhd. and EV Connection Sdn. Bhd. to deploy Direct Current (DC) Fast EV charger at PETRONAS stations by the first half of 2022.
  • Launched Segar@Mesra in Sarawak.
  • Expanded PETRONAS AutoExpert beyond Klang Valley.

2020 

  • Launched the new PETRONAS Primax 97 with Pro-Race.
  • Launched PRYSM, PETRONAS motorsport and lifestyle brand.
  • Implemented B20 Biodiesel at PETRONAS stations.
  • Setel® expanded nationwide.
  • Launched Love Local campaign.
  • Became Malaysia’s first LNG solution provider using road trucks for off-grid customers in Peninsular Malaysia.
  • Introduced Makan@Mesra as an expansion of food and beverage solutions.
  • First in Southeast Asia to offer ship-to-ship transfer of LNG.

2019 

  • Launched the new PETRONAS Primax 95 with Pro-Drive. 
  • Setel® fully operationalised in Klang Valley. 
  • Introduced Mesra Redemption portal for easy and instant redemption. 
  • Established PETRONAS AutoExpert service centre, offering high-quality car maintenance services. 
  • Launched the latest range of PETRONAS flagship motorcycle engine oil, PETRONAS Sprinta with UltraFlexTM technology. 
  • Introduced ROVR, the first mobile refuelling service in the country.
