PDB is committed to building a sustainable and ethical supply chain, recognising that doing so not only improves product quality but also enhances efficiency, reduces costs and drives business resilience. A strong supply chain also increases our competitive advantage, contributing to long-term sustainability.
To support this commitment, PDB has developed a Supplier Mentorship Programme designed to improve labour rights practices among our suppliers. This programme includes a structured framework with gap assessments, tailored training sessions, regular progress reviews and a recognition system to reward exemplary suppliers who demonstrate leadership in sustainability and ethical practices.

In 2023, PDB made key strides in enhancing supply chain sustainability, including:
- The incorporation of Social Risk Assessments (SRA) into PDB’s core business processes.
- The development of an Environmental and Social Impact Assessment (ESIA), setting clear environmental and social requirements for planning and executing development projects.
These initiatives support the following UN SDGs:
- SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth
- SDG 12: Responsible Consumption and Production
Looking ahead, PDB will continue to refine its supply chain sustainability efforts by expanding the mentorship programme and deepening partnerships with suppliers to meet evolving environmental and social standards.
