PETRONAS Wants You To Travel Safe This Chinese New Year
Kuala Lumpur, 8 February 2018 – PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) today launched its annual Coffee Break campaign as part of its commitment to advocate road safety culture amongst motorists who will be traveling during the upcoming festive seasons.

For the coming Chinese New Year, the campaign will commence from 14 to 15 February 2018 and resume from 18 to 19 February 2018 at 141 PETRONAS stations nationwide, offering motorists complimentary hot coffee and snacks to refresh and relax before continuing on their journey. In addition, there will also be a road safety advocacy programme by one of the campaign’s partners, the Road Safety Department (JKJR).
Speaking at the launch, PDB’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Mohd Ibrahimnuddin Mohd Yunus said, “Road safety is one of our highest priorities and we want to send this message to as many motorists as possible. It is our wish that all travelers will reach their destinations safely to celebrate the festivities with their loved ones.”

To reinforce the safety message, during the campaign period, selected PETRONAS stations will also offer complimentary health checks by St. John Ambulance of Malaysia (SJAM). For the 25th year running, PDB remains committed as the fuel sponsor for 50 of SJAM’s ambulances, stationed along highways to provide emergency assistance to motorists traveling during the festive period.
“As part of our annual practice, the Coffee Break campaign will also be held during Hari Raya, Kaamatan and Gawai Festival, which typically record higher volume of road travelers. We hope to play our part in making our customers’ travels a little less exhausting through our campaign as their safety is important to us,” Dato’ Ibrahimnuddin added.

The Coffee Break Campaign is supported by PDB’s partners including Nestle’ Products Sdn Bhd, Delfi Marketing Sdn Bhd, Julie’s Marketing Sdn Bhd, Mondelez Malaysia Sales Sdn. Bhd, Munchworld Marketing Sdn Bhd and Suntory Beverage & Food Malaysia Sdn Bhd. New additions to the campaign this year include offerings by Shopee Mobile Malaysia Sdn Bhd and Dunkin’ Donuts.
