PETRONAS Prai Fuel And LPG Terminal Goes Green And Digital
Prai, Kedah, 3 March 2017 – PETRONAS becomes the first oil company in Malaysia to go green and digital with the launch of its Digital Delivery Note (DN) system at its Prai Fuel and LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas) Terminal.
“Sustainability is a key area of concern for our business to remain competitive in a challenging market environment as global oil prices continue to remain volatile. In tandem with our efforts to improve efficiency and enhance cost optimisation, this ‘green’ initiative helps reduce paper usage,” said Mohd Ibrahimnuddin Mohd Yunus, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB).
PDB has embarked on an initiative which simplifies processes for operations and cost cost-efficient improvements and by going digital. This is in line with PETRONAS Group’s efforts to create a cash-generating, cost-competitive culture through greater collaboration with our customers and stakeholders.
The new digital DN system improves overall process efficiency with auto refund, auto goods issuance function and an improved record management system is made possible through a secured, centralised digital database that is accessible anytime, anywhere by its users. It is convenient and reduces the need for document storage space for both PDB and its customers
“This initiative will also benefit our customers whereby they will now be able to view, retrieve, download, track and monitor status and perform acceptance of product delivery with just a few simple steps online. This is part of our initiative to continuously add value in our services to our customers” added Ibrahimnuddin.
The Digital DN, implemented under PDB’s Advanced Terminal Operations Management (ATOM) initiative, will be rolled out in stages to all 17 PDB fuel terminals nationwide during the first quarter of the year.
The launch of the Digital DN system was officiated by MD/CEO of PDB with representatives from Kementerian Perdagangan Dalam Negeri, Kopersi dan Kepenggunaan (KPDNKK) and Jabatan Kastam Di-Raja Malaysia.
