Petronas Dagangan Berhad Delivers Fuel Via Rovr To Aid Flood Rescue Operation In Pahang

Kuala Lumpur, 6 January 2021 – Following the closure of several petrol stations due to the ongoing flood in Pahang, PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) had mobilised ROVR, a mobile refueling service, to serve the emergency rescue team as well as the residents' refueling needs within the Kuala Lipis district.

With a capacity of 3000 litres, the ROVR's truck was mobilised to Kuala Lipis where access to fuel was disrupted within the vicinity. This initiative is to ensure that the rescue operation can be carried out seamlessly amidst concerns on shortage of fuel.

PDB Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Azrul Osman Rani said, "We are working closely with the Ministry of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs' office in Pahang to ensure that the front-liners receive the fuel supply required in order for the rescue operation to be executed without any disruptions. This initiative is a testament to our commitment in developing innovative solutions that not only serves the market, but has also proven to be pivotal in times like this."

"We hope to do more but accessibility is a challenge right now at the moment, so we will work with our regional team and local station dealers to see how we can help the affected communities once the flood subsides," he added.

On the 4th of January, PETRONAS station dealers in the Southern region had provided relief and assistance to over 100 flood victims in Johor to help ease their burden in this trying time.

ROVR is Malaysia's 1st mobile refueling service, offering a seamless and safe refueling experience for both commercial and everyday drivers, beyond conventional petrol stations. ROVR has been serving commercial customers (B2B) since its pilot in October 2018 and has since delivered over 10 million litres of fuel. In the past year, ROVR also played a pivotal role in ensuring undisrupted fuel services to consumers when the Targeted Movement Control Order was declared in Kedah.
