PDB Partners Lazada To Provide Unmatched Offerings To Customers
24 October 2017, Kuala Lumpur – PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) today announced partnership with Lazada Malaysia, South East Asia’s leading eCommerce platform, as part of PDB’s strategic move to strengthen its presence in the eCommerce space. In conjunction with Lazada’s Online Revolution campaign, which will kick off on 11 November, PDB will widen the offerings with exciting discounts on fuel gift card alongside giveaway of two million Lazada’s discount vouchers during the month-long mega sale.

Leading up to the sale, customers can now enjoy various exciting deals and hourly flash sales, including purchasing fuel worth RM100 at the price of RM95 in the form of the PETRONAS Fuel Gift Card. The fuel gift card can also be used for purchase of other items at over 760 PETRONAS’ Kedai Mesra including F1 merchandise such as the specially-designed t-shirts, drawstring bags and lanyards.

Additionally, customers who fuel up a minimum of RM50 at any of over 1,000 PETRONAS stations nationwide from now until 20 November will receive a 12% Lazada discount voucher, which carries a maximum redemption value of RM15 for over millions of products being sold online.

Speaking about the partnership, PDB’s Head of Retail Business Aadrin Azly said, “We are very excited for the opportunity to further strengthen our presence in the eCommerce space and widen our outreach via Lazada’s platform. This is in line with our effort to cater to the increasingly digital and cost-savvy customers who are constantly looking for convenience and value-add purchases.”

“Prior to this, we had also received overwhelming response for similar deals offered via other online platforms. As such, we are definitely continuing on this trend to diversify our retail point of sales,” he added.

To add on to the offerings, between now and 15 November 2017, customers who purchase five of PETRONAS’ Mornings@Mesra Breakfast combo priced at RM5 each will also receive a 10% Lazada discount with a maximum redemption value of RM15.

During this campaign, PDB will avail pick-up and drop-off services for items purchased via Lazada at nine of its PETRONAS stations within the Klang Valley, including Putra Bistari, Seksyen 26 Shah Alam, Kepong Industrial Park, Seksyen 2 Wangsa Maju, Taman Dagang, Jalan Segambut, 5.5 KM Cheras, Alam Damai and Bandar Puteri Puchong. The number of stations is set to increase to 50 by end of this year to extend greater convenience for Lazada’s customers.

Over and above this, PDB and Lazada will also be announcing greater deals exclusively for the hourly flash sales which will commence on 11 November at 11.11am. The announcement will be made closer to the commencement date.

Chief Executive Officer of Lazada Malaysia, Hans-Peter Ressel said, “This is a winning collaboration for Lazada and PDB that benefits the consumers as we strive to provide added convenience, choice and value. Brands such as PDB recognises the strategic importance of e-commerce in Malaysia and we look forward to working together with PDB in growing its online presence especially as we gear towards our biggest campaign of the year, Online Revolution which kicks-off on 11th November.”

Online Revolution is the biggest shopping event in Southeast Asia, which was introduced on 12 December 2012 (12.12) to introduce consumers to the convenience and value of shopping online, sparking a ‘shopping frenzy’ that has grown it into a highly-anticipated annual event. Every year, more and more consumers from capital cities to remote villages shop from a wide range of deals from international and local brands previously not available to them. Last year, shoppers ordered two million items in just the first day of the event.

This year, the highlights of Online Revolution will be on 11.11 (11 November) and 12.12 (12 December). Themed ‘Shop the Universe’, shoppers in six countries can look forward to millions of products from around the world – from branded cosmetics, apparel and fashion accessories, to TVs and other nifty electronics, household essentials and even pet food – at ‘out-of-this-world’ prices. More importantly, apart from discount vouchers on lifestyle products, this year customers can enjoy shopping fuel too.
