Kuching, 2 March 2019 – PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PDB) today officially opened the new PETRONAS Station Sg. Maong, making the total network of stations in the state to 91 thus far. The new station was officiated by Deputy Minister of Domestic Trade and Consumer Affairs, Y.B. Chong Chieng Jen and represented by PDB’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Dato’ Sri Syed Zainal Abidin.
The station features the new Kedai Mesra, of which the image, layout and offerings have been designed to give customers an enhanced shopping experience. It is the first PETRONAS station in Sarawak to boast a KFC drive-thru. All these enhancements are part of PDB’s promise to move like never before to deliver a seamless and frictionless customer experience.

During the event, Y.B. Chong Chieng Jen said, “As the connectivity within Sarawak grows, coupled with the development of the Pan Borneo Highway, so will the demand for fuel. The growth of new retail fuel stations in the state will help fill the demand for fuel and support the infrastructure and economic development of Sarawak.”

As PETRONAS customers, they will be able to enjoy quality fuel that has been designed to meet their driving needs such as the newly launched PETRONAS Primax 95 with Pro-Drive, which promises to deliver a smoother, more responsive and efficient drive.

By looking through customer lens, PDB will continue to innovate and enhance its products and offerings to deliver a seamless and frictionless experience such Mornings@Mesra and facilities covering payment terminal, surau and 5-star quality washrooms.

Recently, PDB has also introduced the Setel mobile application, South East Asia’s first e-payment app of its kind where customers can enjoy the convenience of purchasing fuel directly from the comfort of their vehicles. Currently, more than 100 PETRONAS stations in the Klang Valley are already Setel-enabled and plans are underway to grow the number further, including in Sarawak.

Over and above this, PETRONAS Kad Mesra members get to enjoy 3X Mesra points for every litre fuel. This is currently the highest being offering the in the fuel retail industry, allowing customers to earn and redeem their points faster.

As part of the official opening, PDB will be giving away complimentary RM30 PETRONAS Gift Card to the first 50 lucky customers who patronised the new station.

The Gift Card can be used to purchase both fuel and Kedai Mesra items. Furthermore, between 2 and 15 March 2018, patrons of PETRONAS Station Sg Maong will be rewarded with 5X Mesra points per litre of PETRONAS Primax fuel purchased.
