Have A Break With PETRONAS This CNY
Kuala Lumpur, 23 January 2016 – As you prepare your journey on the road this coming Chinese New Year, come to PETRONAS stations to have a break on your journey.

“We are anticipating high traffic along the highways during the Chinese New Year holiday. We invite motorists to take a break and recharge at our stations and at the same time, refuel with our winning formula, PETRONAS Primax 95 and Primax 97, before continuing your journey,” said Mohd Ibrahimnuddin Mohd Yunus, Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad.
121 stations along highways, trunk roads and high traffic areas nationwide will be participating in the PETRONAS Coffee Break campaign. These stations will be distributing 600,000 cups of freshly brewed hot coffee and snacks on 26 to 27 January and 30 to 31 January 2017 from 2pm onwards while stocks last.

Already in its 18th year, this campaign will reinforce road safety messages through a collaboration with the Road Safety Department of Malaysia (JKJR). Motorists will find ‘Seven Road Safety Tips’ at PETRONAS stations to remind and educate road users to stay safe this upcoming holiday.

In addition, PDB is collaborating with partners to bring a more holistic road safety campaign to travelers when they drop by the participating stations. Safety-related services such as 20-point safety inspections on Proton cars carried out by the Proton team and health checks will be made available at selected locations for free.

“Road safety is a natural concern for us at PETRONAS. These safety tips will serve as a good reminder and enhance safety and more mindful driving that can prevent accidents and save lives. Ultimately we wish for every person to arrive at their destinations safe and well,” Ibrahimnuddin continued.

The PETRONAS Coffee Break campaign is complemented by the company’s long-standing commitment as the fuel sponsor to 50 of St. John Ambulance of Malaysia (SJAM)’s emergency response vehicles. This is the 23rd year we are sponsoring fuel worth RM20,000 for SJAM to provide assistance to motorists travelling on major highways.

PETRONAS Coffee Break is held in collaboration with Nestle Products Sdn Bhd, Munchworld Marketing Sdn Bhd, Suntory Beverages & Food Malaysia Sdn Bhd, Mondelez Malaysia Sales Sdn Bhd, SJAM and PROTON Holdings Berhad.

The free hot coffee and snacks will be provided to motorists while stocks last. For more information on PETRONAS Coffee Break and the locations of participating PETRONAS Stations, visit www.mymesra.com.my.
