PETRONAS Dagangan Berhad (PETRONAS Dagangan) conducted an Emergency Response Drill at the premise of its Gas PETRONAS stockist here today to test the response capabilities of its Emergency Response Team in handling a fire emergency.
Codenamed “Gas PETRONAS Rescue”, the drill was participated by the Royal Malaysian Police, Fire and Rescue Department, Hospital Sungai Buloh, Department of Enviroment (DOE), Selayang District Council (MPS), Rawang Integrated Council and other relevant authorities.
The exercise was part of PETRONAS Dagangan’s continuous commitment to pursue pro-active management of health, safety and environment (HSE) across all its business activities. The drill was designed to enhance the capability of the Emergency Response Team in handling emergency situations, as well as attending to physical injuries, managing property loss, environmental damage and business disruptions.
The one-hour exercise saw the involvement of PETRONAS Dagangan personnel and the mobilization of an ambulance, two fire trucks and several police patrol cars. It was part of a comprehensive HSE management system undertaken by PETRONAS Dagangan in line with its “No Compromise” philosophy in complying with rigorous HSE standards.
The system was put in place to manage any emergency situation at all PETRONAS Dagangan’s plants, installations and facilities as well as to promote a safe workplace and also to ensure that all PETRONAS Dagangan’s operations and activities cause no harm to people, property and the environment.
